Wesley Browne, general manager of Rugani Juice explains, “What distinguishes ZZ2 100% Romanita Tomato Juice from other similar brands is that it’s not made from concentrate. The juice is produced using freshly harvested tomatoes and an innovative extraction process that helps to maximise the nutritional content of the juice and create a great taste with no sugar, preservatives or colourants added.”

Changing poor diet and lifestyle choices have been shown to help reduce the risk for 30-40% of cancers by a vast body of science, CANSA recommends eating at least 5 servings of vegetables and fruits each day as part of leading a balanced lifestyle for overall wellbeing. Consuming vegetable juices as healthy drink or cooking alternative is a convenient and effective way of adding more vegetables and nutrients to your diet.

“It’s wonderful to add ZZ2 100% Romanita Tomato Juice to the fold of CANSA Smart Choice products.  It is high in lycopene, an antioxidant from the carotenoid family which also gives certain fruits such as tomatoes and watermelon their red or pinkish colour. Lycopene has further been linked through studies to many health benefits ranging from promoting heart health to reducing the risk of developing certain types of cancer. Researchers linked high lycopene intake to a 9% lower likelihood of developing prostate cancer. Daily intakes of 9–21 mg of lycopene per day found in at least 330ml of ZZ2 tomato juice, appeared most beneficial” added Van Dyk.

ZZ2 100% Romanita Tomato Juice is available in ready-to-drink 330ml or family-sized 750ml juice boxes. The Rugani Juice range, including the ZZ2 100% Romanita Tomato juice, is available at all Food Lover’s Market stores and Dis-Chem Pharmacies nationally. It is also available on the Rugani Juice Online Shop.

CANSA aims to promote a smart, balanced lifestyle using the CANSA Smart Choice Seal on products as a tool to assist the public to easily identify products that may help to reduce cancer risk and to make healthier, informed choices. The CANSA Smart Choice trademark is only awarded to products that have undergone testing at an independent laboratory and which comply with the National Standards (SANAS) or similar International Standards (ISO), as well as the stringent evidence-based requirements for each category as set out by CANSA.
